It may just be me, but it is telling of what the player base thinks about the game currently.Ĭurrently Playing : 27 players 30 Day Avg: 50 players I will end with the Player Steam Data to help you know where it stands right now after the last update. There is an extremely solid game core here that I really hope gets worked out so more people will play this each month. This just feels like it needs something along that line. Just know that currently there is just not even some kind of progression or reward system in place. There is a new update that has come out and I need to go back and give it another go. Had I seen that video before I purchased I would have not spent money on it. I actually watched the dev play it live on Steam not long after the release. There are user made maps that help you get better acclimated to the game and enjoy it way more than the very ones who made it. Others felt this way too because the maps built by users better understood the imbalance the devs had placed on the game. I wanted to give it another go, but I read where they added those fly right past your defenses enemies and it caused me not to pick it up again. They have these cave trolls that just demolish your base walls that just destroy all you spent an hour to just get somewhat setup. Even on the latest update the dev added creatures that can now fly OVER your walls you built. The problem is, the dev created maps just seem to pummel you unnecessarily. Lumencraft is a beautiful game for this style. Not to be compared to Subterrain at all, but the top down look and feel remind me so much of that game but with base defense in place of big map exploration. I actually love the graphics, style of play, and mechanics. I bought it and try to play it each time the devs update it. Now, it may seem like I hate the game, but I do not. There is no upgrading or reward system in place to make you keep coming back for more unless you spam those saves so you don't get stuck in an impossible situation you can't come back from. If you just want to make your own maps, play other players maps, and a "few" of the developers maps, then get it. If you are looking for depth and balance, I say not worth buying.
